Excursion in a Quad Stroller

Generally during the week, we are home bodies. I mean, the man cubs and I are home bodies anyway. When Paul is home, we end up out of the house far more than we would in a normal week. Thursday and Friday were no exceptions.

We went out for dinner and watched How to Train Your Dragon 3 (which was awesome by the way) Thursday evening.

Yesterday, Paul was insistent that we "go do something." Uh...Ok. I'm stuffing my face but yeah, we'll get ready to go somewhere. Never fails. He can't stay put like we do. Not that I blame him. Cabin Fever is a real thing.

We decided a trip to the mall would be easiest if we broke out the quad stroller. Thankfully my truck is back in working order so we can finally use it again. The stroller fits in the truck better than the car. This stroller is 80 pounds, and 2 rows of 2 seats with a huge canopy cover that would put any other stroller to shame. To compare size, it's at least half the size of a golf cart. Yes, we get a lot of comments on the stroller. It's well worth the money spent!

We get more attention when we go out with the quad stroller than we do simply having all 4 kids walk with us. I find it funny on the one hand. We are a rare family. People staring is a normal occurance for us. The quad stroller is a whole new level of staring.

There were several elderly couples making comments about Paul and the stroller. I think he was a little embarrassed by the comments by the men. Makes me wonder if they thought themselves too good to push a stroller when their kids were small. It's sexy when a man handles his kids. Not just as the authoritive figure, but helping them learn what they need to know as men, playing with them--and simply giving them his time. Rawr...couldnt stop staring at him. I'm sure everyone behind us found me grabbing his butt every 10 feet or so to be over the top but eh....It's sexy and that's my butt to grab. I will PDA until my dying day.

As parents there are stores in the mall we avoid:

#1 The Disney Store. I do not need to explain why.

#2 Gamestop. This is because Isaac likes the Nintendo Switch (a little too much), and his daddy, well...he doesn't get to play much but he has his love for games as well. I'm a personal fan of Donkey Kong and Mario.

#3 Not a store, but we discovered our mall has a kids' play area. I'll deal with my own children and my own insecurities as a parent, not everyone else. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a hermit because I don't handle stupid people well--that means idiot adults who want children but refuse to parent.

Anyway, we hit up a new ice cream shop. Good stuff! Ethan and Nolan chose a Jasmine tea ice cream with sprinkles (mildly flavored and yummy). Isaac chose mint chocolate chip with M&Ms. I had peanut butter s'mores and churro icecream. YES! Churro ice cream. Ah-mazing! I don't remember what Paul had. It was yummy. David had a lick of churro ice cream as well. Couldn't resist.

Overall, a couple hours out of the house did us good. Ice cream was a bonus. Grabbing Paul's butt in public was fun. Making people feel uncomfortable is hilarious. I tend to break the (nasty) Jello mold on purpose. Ya know, because I abhor Jello.
